What happens when a group of acro pilots high on pig manure (Chapter 58) collaborate with a motley crew of pilots from New Jersey (Chapter 52)? Well as it turns out, one kick-ass contest.

The inaugural Wildwood Acroblast was held June 27-29 in Cape May, NJ, and Chapter 11 showed once again that what we lack in size, we make up for in swagger. pulling out another powerhouse performance.

While Chapter 11 could have very well taken first in Sportsman, Intermediate and Advanced, we remembered what our mother's taught us about good sportsmanship and being gracious to your hosts. so we opted for a repeated close seconds to Chapter 52.

Our own Wes Jones took a VERY close second in Sportsman. This was undoubtedly a gracious act meant only to allow the host and contest mastermind, Will Morey, a single taste of sweet victory. Beyond Wes's remarkable restraint, it should not go unnoticed the skill required to precisely calculate the number of outs necessary to have achieved this feat. Kudos to Wes!

In Intermediate, Adam Cope placed second. Of course, he's not quite as gracious as his fellow chapter brethren; instead, this concession was made purely because he did not want to outshine his dream plane, the Pitts Model-12. So, Adam opted to zero his first figure in the unknown to firmly secure his second place spot in the final flight.

Superstar President Scott Francis knew the only way he could not win first place in Advanced was to fly the entire contest at half-throttle. And so he did. which got him the second place spot that he strived for. Bill Finagin closed out the Advanced top three with a Third.
